I suggest you try pierogi sometime. The best dish in the world.

Pierogi are small pieces of dough that can be prepared in various shapes – most often in the form of crescents. The dough consists of flour, water, eggs and a pinch of salt, and its consistency should be soft and elastic. They are made from different types of flour, including wheat, rye or corn. Pierogi can be of different sizes – from small uszka to a single pierogi, which is cut into pieces before serving.

The filling is a key element of pierogi and can be different – savoury or sweet.

If you ever visit Poland, you must try bigos

Bigos is a traditional Polish dish made of cabbage and various types of meat (pork, beef, game, poultry, sausage), seasoned with herbs. It gains in flavor when kept cold and reheated. The name of the dish probably comes from the German word Beiguss, meaning sauce. Bigos was served for breakfast, especially to those who were going on a journey, and also for an evening meal. In old Polish homes, bigos with sausage served before soup started dinner. Bigos is cooked throughout Poland in various versions. However, the main ingredient is always sauerkraut, to which chopped, fresh cabbage is added. It can be served with dried mushrooms or fruit, with the addition of various herbs and spices, and poured with dry red wine.

Do you have your own recipe? Of course you can find it on the internet, but the best are homemade recipes.

I've never been to Poland, but I've made Chef John's version of Bigos for myself a few times, and it was really excellent. I ought to make it again, sometime soon.

It's nice to read this. I've lived in Poland all my life and have never made bigos myself. In our family, making bigos is reserved for the oldest in the family. Grandma, grandpa, etc.
